New for 2009 - Workshops
Each workshop will have an initial presentation from the workshop facilitator to introduce the topic for the day and set the days objectives, focussed around the workshop theme. Each session will also be repeated on the second day to allow for maximum opportunity to attend. The workshops will be highly interactive, providing you the opportunity to learn more about the chosen subject, but in an informal way whilst still networking with your peers. These free-to-attend workshop sessions will be invaluable to ensuring you stay ahead of the game with the latest industry trends, whilst providing you with real tools to take back to the office and utilise with your own projects. |

Effective Strategies For Email Management – Making Email Management A Corporate AssetE-mail management sometimes seems like a contradiction in terms – how do you manage unstructured data? This 2 hour workshop will look to provide you with answers, and will cover the following key areas in an interactive fashion:
Attend this workshop and you will take away a clear understanding of the basic principles to: The content of this workshop is based on a longer training course about e-mail management by AIIM, which looks at the issues from software, hardware, vendor-independent viewpoint, and is based on global best practices. Enterprise Content Management From A to ZThis 2-hour workshop offers a broad overview of the acronyms and options available in Enterprise Content Management: who are the leading vendors, what to look for in a system and what standards are available. The workshops will be PowerPoint-based, but visitors will be expected to participate in lively discussion. Visitors registering for this workshop will obtain: Workshop Facilitators: |
Combined workshop covering the following topics:Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE) - A Practical Solution For DC Infrastructure Consolidation & SimplificationMost data centres today have multiple networks – Ethernet LANs for TCP/IP connectivity between server tiers, network attached Storage (NAS) and client access; Fibre Channel SAN fabrics for server connections to block mode disk arrays and tape libraries plus replication links between storage systems. In some cases, technologies are deployed for low latency, high bandwidth applications such as clustering. Ultimately, this diverse selection of technologies makes for a complex and expensive solution to deploy provision, manage and troubleshoot. Also, as server virtualization becomes more common place, physical servers are requiring more and more network connections to support virtual machine management, mobility and production traffic, adding further to the level of complexity. In this workshop a new standards based protocol will be assessed - Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE) - when deployed in conjunction with 10 Gbps Ethernet and optimised cabling solutions/new network topologies, to consider if it can truly simplify data centre network infrastructure, driving down both capital expenditure and operational costs associated with network administration. FCoE today offers a truly flexible means to consolidate server I/O and ultimately deliver a unified fabric for the data centre. After this workshop, you will have a clear understanding of A Primer On Storage Network Security Information has come to be the crown jewels of the modern enterprise but with its value has come increased risk of compromise or unauthorised disclosure. This workshop will review the common risks in the storage network environment, useful ways of mitigating them and the guidance provided by the SNIA Best Common Practices for Storage Security. The SNIA Storage Security BCPs help identify a broad range of issues and challenges that a storage professional may be required to confront. SNIA also develop papers that identify skills and knowledge required by a storage security professional. These include Preparing for Storage Security Audit, ABC of Encryption, Data at Rest Solutions Guide and Litigating the Cloud After this workshop, you will have a clear understanding of
